STAGING FAQ’S…

I watch all the design TV shows—couldn’t I just stage my home myself?
We know from our own experience and from assisting others that trying to stage your own home is very difficult.  Everything in your home is so personal—it is virtually impossible to see it objectively.  Flaws are often overlooked and personal tastes get in the way.

Your home is a reflection of you, an expression of who you are.  But—staging is not about who lives in the house—it is about what the buyer will be attracted to.  It is about enabling the buyers to see themselves in the home—not the homeowner.

A professional home stager will look at your home objectively through “buyers’ eyes” and will be able to come up with a strategy to effectively present your home.  Professional stagers are specially trained in design and in what will appeal to the potential home buyer.

My house has already been on the market for months—isn’t it too late?
Although you can never replace that crucial first impression, it is never too late to stage your home!  We always recommend staging a home before it goes on the market, however, we have had great success staging homes that had been on the market as long as a year!  We will work with you and your Realtor to make key transformations to your home and will provide you and your agent with beautiful new photos to use in your marketing.  Then, with your Realtor, we can reintroduce your home, with its new look, to the market!

Is Staging the same as Interior Design?
Staging is different from interior design in that home staging focuses on what the potential buyer will look for, whereas interior design seeks to decorate according to the current homeowner’s individual tastes and desires. Rose-Colored Staging also offers “Redesign” services for those wishing to redesign their homes but who are not currently planning to move.  We look at color coordination, furniture placement and flow, and how to improve the feel of each room.  We want your rooms to work for you and “feel like home” to you.

My home is tastefully decorated—isn’t that enough?
Because a home needs to be staged does not mean it is decorated poorly!  A home can be gorgeous but still not appeal to the widest array of buyers.  Staging seeks to make a home attractive to everyone, regardless of their personal design taste.  It allows the buyer to envision their belongings in the home, and see themselves living there.  Staging helps a potential buyer form an emotional connection to your home—enabling them to want to make your home theirs.

What is the cost of home staging?
The cost varies depending on the needs of each home.  Our focus is often redesign—using what a homeowner already has in new and creative ways in order to minimize costs. We may suggest small purchases as investments that will more than pay for themselves in the sale of your home.  Working within your budget, we will make suggestions for how to fully stage your home.  It’s important to note: we can make suggestions, but it is up to you to set the boundaries as to how much you’d be willing to do.  The absolute worst thing you can do is nothing!  Staging is an investment that can increase your home’s value and decrease the amount of time it takes to sell.  And—it is almost always much less than a price reduction!

Our Purpose

Rose-Colored Staging is dedicated to presenting the homes we stage in the best possible light. Whether "Staging to Sell" or "Staging to Stay" we will transform your home!

If you are selling your home, we will help potential buyers to fall in love with it! If you are redesigning your home for yourself, we will help you fall in love with your home again! Either way—we will make your home work for you!
